Brian Eno Urges Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to send support to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a solidarity show held in late summer. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a range of prominent voices from the industry. All participated in the benefit event, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a group of music creators. The track features a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The team running the campaign have clarified that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative explained. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is above all making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching on Friday. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from mid-December.
