The men are exulting in a atrocity that humanitarian officials fear claimed the lives of over thousands of civilians in the African urban center of el-Fasher last month.

A City Isolated from the Globe

Following their control of the city under blockade for almost two years, from the summer the militia moved to reinforce its dominance and blockade the surviving civilian population.
