Gus Atkinson added to the injury concerns plaguing England after leaving the playing area during Saturday's play in the Melbourne Test versus the Australians.
The pace bowler pulled up with his hamstring after the final ball in his spell at the MCG.
The England team indicated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and would spend time off the field to undergo evaluation "in the coming hours".
The concluding match in this Ashes battle beginning on 4 January starts on Sunday, 4 January.
